The role of encounters with employers is particularly well evidenced. Anthony Mann points out, “young adults who have four or more contacts with employers while at school are significantly less likely to become NEET and can expect to earn up to 18% more than peers who had no such exposure.” Yet young people today have this kind of meaningful encounter with an employer each year in only 40% of schools.
Project Blyth aims to move this statistic and provide a fun, exciting and meaningful way for employers to engage with students through the Greenpower challenge.
One employer will be linked with each team, and will provide a range of workplace inspiration and encounters, in agreement with the lead adult of each team.
