New Greenpower Motor Announcement

Following substantial research and testing along with consideration of the impact on Greenpower Teams, we are pleased to announce the introduction of a new motor.

We have conducted both performance & durability testing both on bench and on track in which the new motor has shown minor improvements in efficiency and proved durable.  Our thanks go to the Renishaw Greenpower Team for their assistance with our on track testing.

This new motor brings a number of benefits including:

• Identical mounting positions via a nonremovable welded foot-plate
• Suitable for retro fitting to existing cars
• Minor improvement to motor efficiency
• Reduced cooling requirement
• Expected lower price – to be confirmed

It is anticipated that new motors will begin shipping from September 2018 and become eligible for competition from the start of the 2019 race season.

Existing motors will remain eligible to compete for the foreseeable future.
