IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR GREENPOWER GOBLIN G2 KIT
Please note this bulletin applies only to Goblin G2 kits (white sheet metal chassis).
Goblin G1 kits with a tubular chassis are NOT affected.
Dear Greenpower Teams,
Please be aware, we have recently received a limited number of reports that the red, push to start, button switch (GP1261) fails to return quickly and smoothly to the off position when the driver lets go of the button.
Investigations are currently underway to better understand why this issue has arisen before making any decisions beyond the advice given below.
As a precautionary measure, we are issuing this bulletin to ensure teams are aware of the potential problem and to offer a fix that teams can implement on existing cars, if affected.
Symptoms: When the red, push to start, button is released it either fails to return or returns slowly, to the off position.
Cause: When inserted into the steering wheel, the body of the switch is compressed, restricting the free movement of the internal parts.
Solution: Remove the switch from the car. Bend a wing away from the body of the switch. Using a sharp knife, carefully trim/remove the wing from the body of the switch. Re-fit and re-test. If the problem persists, continue to remove additional wings on opposite sides until the switch freely springs back to the off position. (See photograph on page 2)
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
