After a successful Saturday, the second day of the International Final was soon upon us. Those that camped at Rockingham were greeted with a crisp and bright autumnal morning at the track. From 2nd November 2015 we will be increasing the prices of both the IET Formula 24/24+ and IET Formula Goblin kit cars to £2750 plus VAT and £1250 plus VAT respectively.
We have held the prices static for a number of years, and ever-increasing production costs along with a raft of upgrades mean that we can unfortunately no longer absorb these costs.
We are delighted to announce the signing of an agreement with Greenpower Polska Foundation to become the first country fully licensed to operate Greenpower in their territory. Greenpower Polska have significant momentum behind them as well as a wealth of experience from participation in the programme with Silesian University of Technology, and we look forward to a close partnership and developing the relationship between our two organisations. This development also paves the way for inter-country collaboration between teams and overseas participation by UK teams in future.
Last week (Wednesday 30 September), Atkins and Semta Chairman Allan Cook CBE, visited Elutec, a UTC in Dagenham, to witness first-hand Greenpower STEM education in action.
More than 500 schools in the UK participate in Greenpower currently and the numbers continue to increase along with its international appeal in the USA, South Africa, Poland, Ireland and Portugal. Greenpower’s aim is to double the number of schools participating in the UK by 2020.
Here at Greenpower there is never a dull moment - so after the Final (which is THIS weekend) we are looking forward to 2016 and beyond, starting with South Wales. On Wednesday 14th October we are holding a presentation in Miskin, South Wales, to promote a new event that will be taking place there in 2016. We are looking to promote the project to primary schools in and around the area ahead of the new event - hopefulyl sparking some interest in a completely new are for Goblins.
Castle Combe never fails to attract a significant entry, both in terms of numbers and quality of entries, due to its position in the calendar as the final chance to qualify or improve grid position for the International Final.
If you would like to get involved in Greenpower, but want to find out more about the project and see it first hand you can now register to attend our International Final at Rockingham on Sunday 11th October here:
