IET Formula 24 Qualification Table 19/9/2011

You can download the latest IET Formula 24 Qualification Table, updated to include the regional heat at RNAS Merryfield. Just one regional heat remains so please keep checking back on your progress.

Remember that the top three cars from each of the 11 regional heats qualify automatically. A further 39 places are granted on best mileages covered in any of the regional heats, and a final three places on the 75 car grid are wild cards given at Greenpower's discretion to cars or teams we feel particularly deserve to be there.

Jaguar Land Rover Top Championship Table

Following Round 6 of the 2011 IET Formula 24+ Championship on Thursday at Aintree, Jaguar Land Rover's Driven Motion team have shot to the top of the Championship Table with a total of 20 points, the maximum available at this stage in the season. Just one round remains at Castle Combe on 2nd October for other teams to try and equal their points score, ahead of the last round of the year at Goodwooond on 16th October.

Big Industry - Big Opportunity @ Rockingham

Rockingham Motor Speedway, hosts of the 2011 Greenpower Midlands Regional Heat, are holding an event that all schools participating in Greenpower will be interested in attending, on Wednesday 12th October. Big Industry - Big Opportunity is an interactive programme of activites and workshops for young people. It will provide a unique opportunity for young people aged 14-25 to explore the scope and breadth of the automotive industry at this stunning venue.

There's been some brilliant new technologies hitting the headlines this week.  FIrst we had the single molecule motor and then the James Dyson Awards.

Can you imagine having a Greenpower car running off a motor only as big as 5 or 6 atoms? That would make for some very light cars and some very fiddly electrics work!


Volunteers for Bedford Autodrome

The IET Formula 24 season kicks off again on Sunday 11th September at Bedford Autodrome. As it's a large entry we're in need of some additional volunteers to help with various roles including scrutineering, pit lane and circuit marshalling.
