The Greenpower Education Trust achieved charity status in January 2010. This has provided the organisation with a great resource in the form of our talented Trustees:
The Board of Trustees for 2013 -2014 comprises of:
Alex Badowski is Power Systems Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover. Alex graduated from the University of Nottingham with an Electronics and Communications Engineering Beng and went on to join Halfords, Marks & Spencer and then Lloyds Banking Group. Alex feels very privileged to have been invited to become a Trustee and says “I'm very supportive of Greenpower's message and achievements and hope I can make worthwhile contributions as the Trust evolves into the future.”
Chris Bayliss is UK Dealer Marketing Manager for Jaguar Land Rover and in his own words is 'a committed Petrol Head' competing in club level motor sport. He feels that being a Trustee of Greenpower is a “fantastic challenge as it allows me to put my experience to good use helping to guide the running of a charity that has a truly exceptional solution to the problem of getting more young people to pursue careers in engineering. Having the opportunity to combine my personal and professional lives to the furtherance of such a great cause is a real pleasure.”
Chris Baylis (not the same as the man above!) is CEO of his own engineering consultancy and design, Chris Baylis Associates, Northumberland. In addition to this he has set up two other companies AVID Group Ltd which builds green energy systems for buses, trucks and off road vehicles. The second company is Hyperdrive Innovation Ltd. which works on electric vehicles and electric off shore ASVs. In the very little spare time Chris has, he started a PhD at Sunderland University for fun, but understandably it's slow going due to his workload!
Vaughan Clarke first got involved with the project when he was Head of Design and Technology at St Swithun's School. Since retiring he has been a great ambassador for the project and an educational advisor.
Mark Groves is the Managing Director of The Unipro Group which is an eBusiness consultancy and Systems Integrator with extensive and proven expertise in the UK and abroad.
John Jordan worked in the telecommunication industry for many years. He started out as a technician and due to very good training opportunities worked his way up to Directorship level and CEO in the USA. He is very honoured to be the Chairman of Greenpower as it promotes engineering at all levels. He also hopes, like him, that it will give many young people from all backgrounds and educational levels an opportunity to explore their hidden talents and provide them with skills for life.
Lisa Russell, is an Education Consultant who was previously an engineer turned teacher giving her all the credentials to help drive Greenpower in the right direction. Having seen first-hand the educational benefits that young people experience through their involvement with Greenpower she sees that it “makes classroom learning not only far more worthwhile but also makes it come to life for them…". With her background and current experience, she is helping Greenpower integrate the project into the taught curriculum and write new qualifications.
Edward Way has been a great supporter of Greenpower since it started in 1999 and is now involved in the development of new projects and challenges for the charity. He was also the key driving force behind The Greenpower Centre with Fordingbridge where he is the Chairman.
